Lotus Bud Meditation Timer 3 is here
Make it stand out
Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Brand New Redesign
I've been working on this one for a long time.
Lotus Bud has been on the App Store since 2011, and I started building it more than fifteen years ago for one reason: I needed it. Meditation has changed my life, but only because I kept doing the work, and this is the tool that kept me on the cushion long enough for that to happen.
In fifteen years it picked up features the way a house picks up additions — a room here, a porch there, each sensible on its own and none of them quite in conversation with the rest. Version 3 isn't another addition. It's a rebuild, from nothing, of the whole thing.
What It's For
Many meditation apps over-emphasize relaxation and crowd out the experience that really matters with unnecessary features and social content. Most of that is unneeded and can be a hindrance to growing your meditation practice.
I think a meditation can be something deeper — a long-term practice that changes how you relate to the world, to the people you love, and to yourself.
If you're ready to be supported in your practice without hand-holding, Lotus Bud might be right for you. Lotus Bud Meditation Timer is atool, not a social network, not a relaxation music player, not a toy.
What's New
A new design throughout, and a lot of new surface area: widgets for the Home Screen and Lock Screen, Live Activities in the Dynamic Island, Siri Shortcuts for everything.
The one-time unlock now covers custom multi-step plans, a private log with notes and tags, intentions with daily, weekly or monthly goals, and an Insights tab that finally makes years of sitting legible — streaks, averages, tag breakdowns, heat maps.
On devices with Apple Intelligence you can describe the plan you want and it creates one. When taking notes on after a meditation, it will suggest tags for your notes. All of it runs on your device. Your notes stay on your devices, syncing with iCloud.
Version 3 requires iOS 27.
The Price
The in-app purchase is a one-time unlock, on every device you own, not a subscription. $6.99 in the US. This will help support future development, all new pro features will be included, forever.
I hope you enjoy the updates and drop me a line if you have any feedback.
